The Arcom ARS is truly a unique product. It is a low cost outdoor
addressable switch that is GI compatible and can be controlled by
a GI ACC 2000 or 4000. The beauty of the ARS is that no new software
or software interfaces are required to gain the operational efficiencies
of the switch.
The Arcom ARS eliminates truck rolls - a savings that has an immediate positive financial impact. There are several uses and applications for the ARS.
- High churn and seasonal communities
- College campuses
- Vacation areas
- Apartment complexes, both for churn and installer safety issues
- Trailer parks
- Transient neighborhoods
Additional operational savings can be realized in the ability to do soft disconnects for customers with payment problems, the cash flow and customer service gains from immediate installs, and savings in installation costs from repeatedly disconnecting the same location over and over. Labor can be reallocated to revenue generating services instead of disconnects.
The ARS is very easy to use. For MDU applications a simple power passing splitter and a lock box is all that is necessary. For single home applications the operator simply has to change the existing tap face-plate to a power passing version. Since the ARS has the ability to be activated and deactivated with existing GI ACC 2000 and ACC 4000 addressable controllers, and since there is already a link with the billing system - implementation and training is a simple task. No new software is required.
For those systems without GI control gear, an Arcom addressable controller is available.
